Littell, Cowgirls Picked Fourth In Preseason Big 12 Poll

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Big 12 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll it was announced today by the league office. In a vote of the league's head coaches, Texas was tabbed as the favorite with a total of 73 points and five first-place votes. Baylor was second with 71 points and two first-place votes, while West Virginia was third with 66 points and two first-place votes.

The Cowgirls also received one first-place vote and checked in with 63 points.

OSU is coming off a 25-9 campaign that saw the Cowgirls finish tied for third place in the league standings at 11-7. OSU advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 for the third time in program history as well.

Head coach Jim Littell's squad features a pair of honorable mention all-conference selections from a year ago in senior Liz Donohoe and junior Brittney Martin.

The 2013-14 campaign marked the fifth-straight year for the Big 12 to lead the nation in percentage of teams in the NCAA field. The Conference has led or tied for the nation's top spot in seven of eight years dating back to 2007. The Big 12 also led the nation in average home attendance for the 15th-consecutive year.

The Cowgirls will get their season underway on Nov. 14 when they host Loyola Marymount in Stillwater at 11 a.m.
