Andolini's says their Margherita is as historically accurate as a margherita gets… we make it using fresh house made mozzarella cheese (White), real DOP San Marzano tomatoes (Red), and Fresh basil (Green) We sprinkle ours with red rock salt after the bake.
A Margherita Pizza contains all the colors of the Italian flag (White, Red, Green) in the ingredients, and doesn't have meat or additional toppings on it.
To make your own Margherita Pizza at home, use the freshest ingredients you can find, and keep them simple.
This pizza is all about the fresh flavors and the crust.
Bake your pie on a pre-heated (500 degrees) pizza stone and if you have one, use a pizza peel to transfer the pie to the stone and to remove it from the stone after the bake.
