One of downtown Tulsa's biggest landmarks is looking a little shinier these days.

A cleaning crew suspended on ropes is scrubbing every inch of the outside of the BOK Center. The three-man crew started cleaning the windows and the stainless steel panels a couple months ago and is set to finish in the first week of November.

SMG, the company that manages the BOK Center for the City of Tulsa, hired a Kansas City company called MTB Services to do the job, according to Meghan Doyle, BOK Center Marketing Manager.

Doyle said MTB Services also cleans Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Pinnacle Bank Arena in Omaha and the Sprint Center in Kansas City. The BOK Center is the largest building the company cleans.

Doyle said the company uses a patented solution for the job and won't discuss exactly what's in it. She said SMG is having the building cleaned every two years.

The BOK Center has become a popular venue for major acts since it opened to the public on August 30, 2008.
