The University of Tulsa volleyball team (13-8, 5-5 AAC) dropped its match 18-25, 20-25, 37-35, 14-25, against the Temple Owls (16-6, 7-3 AAC), snapping its five-match win streak, Sunday afternoon.

Senior Valerie El Houssine picked up her 10th double-double of the season after an outstanding 17 kill, 21 dig performance. Erica Bohannon also had an impressive outing for TU, matching her career-high 24 kills to go along with 13 digs. Ashley Hooper also finished the match with double-digit kills, with 10.

Bailey Clampitt finished the match with a career-high 61 assists, while Brooke Berryhill picked up her ninth 20-plus dig performance, with 25 on the afternoon.

Tyler Davis of Temple finished with a match-high 26 kills on 68 attacks, hitting .324 on the day.

The Hurricane got off to a good start, taking a quick 4-1 lead thanks to a couple of Ashley Hooper kills and Owl attack errors. The home team would take its first lead after going on a 5-1 run.

Temple would slowly expand its lead throughout the rest of the frame before taking the final four points of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The second set was close throughout, with the biggest lead being three, taken by the Owls in the early stages. The Hurricane took its one and only lead of the frame at 16-15, before Temple went on a 10-4 run to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

The third set, the longest of the year for either side, saw 23 ties and eight lead changes. The set was deadlocked through first 20 points at 10-10. The Owls began to pull away, taking a 17-13 lead, but the Hurricane battled back to tie the frame at 19-19.

With the lead 24-23 in favor of Tulsa, after a Bohannon kill, Temple forced free volleyball after a Davis kill. The Owls forced eight match points, before the Hurricane stole the third, after two-straight Bohannon kills.

The final set was all Temple, who raced out to a 15-5 lead, before ending TU's hope of a sixth-straight win.

The Hurricane hit .249 as a team to the Owls .271.

Tulsa will conclude its four-match road trip next weekend against Houston, on Friday, Oct. 31 before taking on Tulane on Sunday, Nov. 2.
