Police have identified a suspect accused of killing a man at an apartment in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Wednesday afternoon.

Police held a news conference at 12 p.m. Thursday.  According to Randy Dickerson with Stillwater police, at about 2:46 p.m., officers received a call from the suspect, 21-year-old Isaiah Marin, who claimed that he had murdered someone in the western part of Stillwater. Officers said they also received a number of phone calls from witnesses, who reported seeing a man covered in blood carrying a large weapon.

Officers were able to locate Marin. After being confronted, Marin dropped the weapon and was detained.

Marin provided officers with the location of the crime scene. Officers located the victim, 19-year-old Jacob Andrew Crockett at an apartment in the 400 block of Oakdale in Stillwater.

According to police, the victim's head was almost entirely severed from his body. He also had other wounds consistent with the suspect's weapon, which is described as a large knife or sword.

Police said Marin admitted to the murder. He had a number of reasons for it, but police would only say that Marin had fantasized about committing multiple homicides, and the victim was one of his targets.

According to Stillwater police, at this time they have found no evidence that this homicide was tied to any radical religious motive.

Crockett was the son of an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.

Marin will be arraigned Thursday afternoon. Police said he has been charged with one count of first-degree murder.
