Oklahoma Woman Crashes Trying To Avoid Deer

An Oklahoma woman is in the hospital after wrecking while trying to avoid a deer, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol states.

Flint Ridge resident Christie Arnold was driving at about Deer Lake Road and Cherokee Road just before 10 p.m. when troopers say she swerved to miss a deer. Her 1999 Saturn left the roadway and hit a tree, according to a collision report.

Arnold, 41, was taken to an Arkansas hospital where she's said to be stable with head and internal injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The investigating trooper says her condition at the time of the wreck was normal, and the cause of the crash was "deer in roadway."
