Sheriff's Office: Woman Found Dead Near Car In West Tulsa Had Been Shot

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says the death of a woman whose body was found lying next to a car in west Tulsa is a homicide. 

The sheriff's office identified the woman as Destiny Poplawski, 27.

Tulsa Police originally got the call at about 4 a.m. Thursday of a body lying on the ground in the 3900 block of West 57th Street South. A short time later, a second caller told the sheriff's office a woman's body was lying next to a white car just off the road at about the same location. 

Deputies said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner determined that she had been shot once with a small caliber bullet.
