Several Green Country cities showed their support for our veterans by holding ceremonies Tuesday.

Several Green Country cities showed their support for our veterans by holding ceremonies Tuesday.

In Skiatook, American veterans were honored with a new “Flags of Honor” program.

The Chamber of Commerce sold flags to be flown at Osage Gardens Cemetery that will fly each Veterans Day and Memorial day.

Rick Jarrard with the Skiatook Chamber of Commerce said, “What it's all about is to honor our fallen veterans, our people that have, have sacrificed time or lives to keep our freedom.”

They put of 35 flags Tuesday and have room for 130. Organizers want to fill those spots then add more.

In Claremore, people lined the streets to see the city's Veterans Day parade.

News On 6 anchor Lori Fullbright and meteorologist and veteran Dick Faurot, who served in the Air Force, both rode in the parade Tuesday.

Despite the weather, several people showed up to watch and wave flags while bands played patriotic music.
