The Oologah High School football team has forfeited three games and the Class 4A-3 district title due to player academic ineligibility, said the school.

Oologah's superintendent, Max Tanner, stated that the Mustangs immediately gave notice of the situation after their findings. The discoveries were made Tuesday as they were preparing to send off academic honors information to OSSAA. The Mustangs then self-reported the information.

Two of the forfeits were district games against Wagoner and Miami, and one was a non-district game to Glenpool. This bumped Wagoner up to first in the district, knocked Oologah to second (because they beat Cascia Hall head to head), put Cascia Hall at third, and sat Catoosa in fourth.

The brackets have been revised just two days before the state 4A playoffs begin. Game seeds have now been changed, and rather than playing the originally scheduled opponents these teams will now take on new teams Friday night.

Oologah will face Poteau at home; and Wagoner will host Sallisaw. Cascia Hall was originally set to play Metro Christian, but they will now be taking on Fort Gibson. Catoosa will play Metro Christian instead of Fort Gibson.

Teams that had a change in opponent initially were offered an extra day of preparation, but as of now, all game days and times are set to stay the same.

OSSAA's David Jackson has officially confirmed the new brackets as of Wednesday, November 12.
