A 30-year-old man is behind bars after police said he attacked a Tulsa woman about 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.
According to a report, Ramos became angry and punched the woman in the mouth and left cheek. He also attempted to strangle her, but the woman picked up a metal pipe and hit him, the report says.
Ramos reportedly took pipe, threw the woman on the floor, sat on her and punched her face several times. The he "picked up a vacuum cleaner and slammed it into the left side of the victim's head,” an officer wrote in the report.
Police said Ramos beat the woman in front of her children, ages 11 months to 8 years.
Ramos has been booked on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence in the presence of a minor. An immigration hold also has been placed on Ramos by the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement.
