Man Wanted In 5 States, Including Oklahoma, Arrested In Iowa

A man wanted on 17 warrants from five states was arrested in Iowa after the Jasper County Sheriff's Office received a tip from a resident.

According to a news release, the resident contacted Ed Cross with Cross Construction about building a pole-type building and became suspicious when the a low bid for the work came in and Cross requested a $7,000 deposit the same day.

The report says the homeowner discovered that Ed Cross was renting equipment from a business in the area with the name Ed Armstrong.

The homeowner then contacted the sheriff's deputy after an Internet search led him to find Armstrong had a nationwide warrant for his arrest, the release says.

The sheriff's office said they confirmed the 54-year-old Armstrong was wanted for 17 total warrants, nine of which were nationwide. Warrants for Armstrong were found in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Oklahoma and Ohio.

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office was able to locate Armstrong driving in Newton, Iowa and placed him into custody.

Back in 2013 Armstrong was in Oklahoma but going by the name Ed Meyer and his business was called All Seasons Plus.

There were at least four victims in Rogers County that said he collected thousands of dollars in deposits, did a little bit of work, then asked for more money but didn't finish the jobs.
