Water Line Breaks Impacting Tulsa Businesses, Traffic

A water line break closed the southbound lanes of Memorial Drive at 33rd Street South Monday morning. The break in the 12-inch line is in the same area as a break last month.

This break was reported just before midnight. Water department workers blocked off the southbound lanes from 31st to 33rd Streets. Traffic in both directions has been moved to the northbound lanes. 

Because the break involves a 12-inch line, the city expects repairs to take at least eight hours.

City officials say it's impacting 14 nearby businesses.

Another break was reported shortly before lunchtime in west Tulsa. Water was pouring down the street as crews worked to fix the break.

That break was near the exit from Interstate 244 to 33rd West Avenue.
