ROGERS, Arkansas -

Three Rogers, Arkansas firefighters finished decorating a home last weekend after the homeowner fell off the roof while installing Christmas lights.

Jim Brewer was putting up the lights when he slipped off the roof. He fell onto the top of his wife's car - shattering the glass - before rolling off onto the driveway.

"When I seen my husband laying there and no movement, I actually thought I was going to lose him. The good Lord was watching over him, I know that," said Rhonda Brewer.

Jim had multiple broken bones, a ruptured kidney, and internal bleeding - and couldn't finish putting up the lights. So after treating Brewer and getting him to the hospital, Michael Braswell, Lacie Johnson and John Gavin grabbed their ladders and finished putting up the lights.

Jim is now back home resting and the three firefighters stopped by Wednesday to check on him.
