Unseasonably mild air in Green Country is expected into Sunday with temperatures expected to top 70 degrees by early Sunday afternoon.

Saturday's high was not a record, but it was over 20 degrees above normal. The warmth will come to an abrupt end by early Sunday evening as an Arctic cold front brings temperatures 40 to 50 degrees colder into the area.

Early Monday morning, as temperatures drop below freezing, light drizzle may form, especially in our more eastern counties. While the precipitation will be light, the freezing drizzle may leave a glaze on elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses. No more than a tenth of an inch of ice is expected, but it takes very little to cause travel issues.

Ground temperatures in the 40s and 50s will limit any icing on main roadways, but drivers should be aware of the possible slick spots for their Monday commute.

Highs on Monday will only be around the freezing mark. Temperatures warm to near normal levels by midweek.
