Tulsa Police captured a man on suspicion of stealing a pickup truck early Sunday and learned he had several felony warrants out for his arrest.

Edguardo Rodriguez is in Tulsa County Jail on numerous complaints including possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

Police say Rodriguez jumped out of a stolen pickup after a traffic stop made at about 3 a.m. Sunday near 51st and Peoria. A K-9 officer and partner tracked the 23-year-old man down, finding him hiding behind a shed in a nearby neighborhood, according to Sergeant Mark Mears.

Officers learned he had outstanding warrants for allegedly stealing a 1996 Honda Accord earlier this year and striking an Oklahoma Highway Patrol officer. He also had methamphetamine on him during that arrest, court documents state.

His bond for past and current complaints totals over $165,000.
