Oklahoma City police have identified the suspect killed and officers injured in a shootout following a traffic stop late Monday night.

According to police, just before 11 p.m., Sgt. Jason Burgess made a routine traffic stop on a 4-door passenger vehicle at N.W. 12th and Rockwell. Sgt. Burgess made contact with the driver, later identified as 24-year-old Renarbrey Jones, and two passengers, 24-year-old Lincoln Price and 32-year-old Roger Gurley Jr.

After running their information for warrants, police said Sgt. Burgess discovered that Jones and Gurley both had multiple outstanding municipal warrants.

Sgt. Burgess called for backup to help him arrest the two suspects. Three more officers responded to the scene, including Sgt. Jonathan Davis, Sgt. Jeff Coffey and Sgt. Jonathan Wilson. The officers approached the vehicle and took Jones into custody.

However, when Jones was being handcuffed, police said Price got out of the vehicle, pulled out a semi-automatic weapon, and began firing at the officers.

According to police, Sgt. Burgess was hit in the leg, and Sgt. Davis sustained an injury to his hand and finger. The officers then returned gunfire at Price, killing him.

Sgt. Burgess was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released. Sgt. Davis was treated at the scene. Two police cars sustained damage from Price's firearm.

All officers will be placed on routine administrative leave pending a full investigation. Police have not specified the reason for the initial traffic stop.

Both Jones and Gurley were taken into custody.
