TULSA, Oklahoma - ORU women's basketball took on Eastern Michigan Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles stepped up to the occasion and got a 63-62 win over the Eagles, advancing to 5-4 on the season.

The Golden Eagles got on the board first with a layup from Vicky McIntyre. Oral Roberts didn't advance their lead by many, until Jayden Oliver hit a three-pointer with 13:06 on the clock, extending ORU's lead 13-6. A minute later, Carolina Lopez came down floor and hit a jumper, adding another two points to the board for ORU. Eastern Michigan battled to stay in close range of ORU, cutting the Golden Eagles' lead down to one with five minutes left of the half. By the end of the first, Eastern Michigan led 34-29.

Jordan Doyle knocked down a jumper in the opening minutes of the second half, making it a 34-31 game. With ORU now only trailing by three, Eastern Michigan answered back with a layup from Cha Sweeney. ORU continued to chop away the Eagles lead, regaining control with 12:22 left to play. Atoe' Jackson hit a fast break layup, changing the score 43-42. ORU would continue to take advantage of their offensive possessions, finishing the game with a 63-62 lead.

Ending the game, ORU shot 41.4 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from behind the arc, and 50 percent from the free throw line. They had 54 rebounds, ten steals, eight blocks, 13 assists, and 22 turnovers. Eastern Michigan shot 29.7 percent from the field, zero percent from behind the arc, and 54.5 percent from the free throw line. They had 46 rebounds, nine steals, two blocks, four assists, and 13 turnovers.

McIntyre led ORU with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles will return to action Friday, December 12, to take on Grand Canyon in the Mabee Center at 7:00 p.m.
