Man Wanted For Rape In Muskogee Arrested In Fort Smith

A Muskogee teenager and her infant child missing since September was located Thursday evening in Fort Smith and a Muskogee man wanted on a second-degree rape warrant was arrested by Fort Smith Police and U.S. Marshals.

KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith says Garrett Dobbs, 21, was apprehended at a Fort Smith apartment. Inside the apartment, officers found the 16-year-old girl and her baby.

Dobbs is accused of having sexual relations with a teen in the summer of 2013. The girl's mother told investigators her daughter was pregnant from the encounters, according to the warrant.

Police said the teen and her child were turned over to Arkansas Child Protective Services and Dobbs was booked into the Sebastian County jail to wait on extradition back to Muskogee.

The warrant for Dobbs arrest was issued in October.
