Locust Grove finally got to play in its scheduled game against Heritage Hall after a two week wait.

Locust Grove took the lead early with a 49-yard touchdown pass from Mason Fine to Jason Pirtle, giving them an 8-0 head over Heritage Hall by the 9:18 mark.

The Chargers tied up the game later in the first with a short run by Connor McGinnis, making it 8-8 with 4:31 on the clock. Heritage Hall would lead the first quarter, after Mason Fine threw only his sixth interception of the season. The Charges kicked a 30 yard field goal, giving them the three-point lead.

Heritage Hall set the tone for the second quarter, when McGinnis connected with Tevin McDaniel for a 79-yard touchdown. This gave the Chargers an 18-8 lead over the Pirates, with 9:29 in the quarter. The Pirates struck back after Fine found Pirtle back-to-back for another Pirates score. At this point, Locust Grove only trailed by two, (16-18).

With 55 seconds left in the second, Fine dropped and recovered a snap, then launched it for a 47-yard touchdown. This put Locust Grove back on top, leading 22-18 going into halftime.

On the second play of the last half, Fine hit Pirtle again for an 80-yard touchdown, heightening the Pirates' lead 28-18.

Heritage Hall wasn't without another score for long, posting another touchdown on a double reverse pass. The score was now 28-25, with 9:54 left of the third quarter.

Later in the half Locust Grove was up 36-25, and Fine had thrown his 70th touchdown of the season, and the 112th of his career. He set the Oklahoma career record for touchdown passes as just a junior.

The Chargers scored the first play of the fourth, taking a 40-36 lead over the Pirates. Locust Grove came back with yet another touchdown from Pirtle, regaining the lead 42-40 with 8:04 left to play. Heritage Hall answered back with a score of their own, after McGinnis went 50 yards for a Chargers' touchdown. Heritage Hall proceeded by recovering an onside kick, and using its offensive possession to score again. Tank Love went 38 yards to the end zone, putting the Chargers up 53-42.

The score would remain the same for the remainder of the game, as Heritage Hall beat Locust Grove in the 3A semifinals. The Chargers will now face Cushing for the gold ball.
