One person is dead and seven others were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 69/75 in Calera south of Durant late Sunday.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol assisted Calera Police at the crash scene involving three semis and two cars.  The state Department of Transportation says southbound Highway 69 remains closed and southbound traffic is being routed around the crash scene in Bryan County.

KXII TV, the CBS affiliate in Sherman, Texas reports fuel and non-hazardous chemicals from the trucks were spilled and the state Department of Environmental Quality is helping with the cleanup.

Police say a semi rear-ended another semi causing initial crash. One of the truck's drivers died in the crash and seven other people were taken to nearby hospitals.
