News On 6 anchor Scott Thompson was in the giving spirit Monday. Scott is a member of the Sand Springs Education Foundation and on Monday he surprised classroom teachers with $96,000 in grants.

Without the grants - teachers would have to do without the extras, or pay for them themselves.

Debbie Williams will use her grant money for "Touch Math Classic."

"They learn that each number has a touch point, and when they learn that, than can do that instead of using their fingers," said Debbie Williams.

Over the past 25 years, the Sand Springs Education Foundation has given out almost $900,000 in grants. It raises the money for the grants with a Sandite Hall of Fame dinner in the spring and a golf tournament in the fall.
