Tulsa firefighters rescued a woman who was the victim of a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning. She and another woman were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at about 3:45 a.m.

Police say the woman was driving a white SUV on an access road in the 6900 block of South Peoria where it meets with Riverside Drive. A gold SUV headed southbound on Peoria missed the curve and hit her vehicle in the driver's side, according to a Tulsa Police officer at the scene.

Firefighters had to cut her out of the SUV using the jaws of life.

She was taken to the hospital with back injuries, and a passenger was taken to the hospital with what were thought to be minor injuries. Their conditions are unknown.

Police say the gold SUV rolled at least twice before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver took off on foot and was not captured. Police said they believe they can track him down, however.
