Police Say Fight Over Christmas Trip Lands Tulsa Man In Jail

Tulsa Police say a man attacked his girlfriend when she told him she was going to go see her family for Christmas without him.

Manuel Scott Barnett was arrested for domestic assault and battery by strangulation and assault and battery with a deadly weapon after former felony conviction.

Barnett reportedly became angry with his live-in girlfriend when she started to leave their home with a female friend. Police say he got so angry he dragged her upstairs then threw her down the stairs. Records show he also choked her, threatened her with a knife and left with her wallet.

Officers tracked Barnett down to his mother's apartment. When he tried to drive away, they captured him after a short, high speed pursuit.

Court records show he was arrested for domestic violence last Christmas Eve with a different woman.
