TULSA, Oklahoma -

We may not have seen a white Christmas – or even much of a cold one – this year, but a cold front has brought familiar winter temperatures and a wintry mix to parts of Green Country.

Areas of light snow will continue to fall Saturday over much of northeast Oklahoma, with heavier bands to the west and north of the Tulsa area.

Residents can expect areas north and west of Tulsa can expect one to three inches along the elevated grassy surfaces, according to meteorologist Tom Bennett. Travel could be slick in spots.

Viewers in in many areas including Bartlesville, Skiatook, Chelsea, Glenpool, Vinita, Dewey, Kellyville, Barnsdall, Verdigris, Prue and Mannford have all reported snow.

Oklahoma Road Conditions

According to News On 6 Meteorologist, Dick Faurot, highs are expected in the upper 30s or lower 40s with a brisk northwest wind to make it feel even colder.

While skies are expected to clear some Saturday evening, Sunday should have some sunshine but cold to go with it. Highs are again expected in the 40s with a light north breeze.

The start of next week should warm up some with temperatures reaching the upper 40s Monday.

That, however, will be followed by a New Year's cold front where Faurot says temperatures might struggle to get above freezing.

So if you're going out to ring in the New Year, you might want to wear a few extra layers.
