Christmas is over and the deals remain for those looking for something they didn't find underneath their tree on Thursday.

Some retailers are marking items down by half in an effort to get shoppers back in their stores.

Because the Christmas holiday was held in the middle of the week, a lot of people took Friday off and used the weekend to head back into stores.

“That's when I do most of my shopping... get the best deals,” shopper James Carver said.

Shoppers are back after the holidays and stores are ready with big price reductions.

Bass Pro Shops store manager Mike McClure said his crew has been busy.

"We were slammed from the moment we popped the doors on Friday, and it's been very busy today... just not as quite as intense as it was yesterday," McClure said.

He said some people are coming into the store and cashing out gift cards they got over Christmas or exchanging items.

Karla Smith said she might take a spin down the aisles and find a deal.

Carver is happy to see the savings even toward the end of the holiday shopping season.

But was it worth the wait?

“Absolutely,” Carver said. “Everything seems to be marked down... value for my dollar."

Some stores are keeping holiday hours and are open later.

At Bass Pro Shops, it will be open New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
