Oklahoma lawmen have a big job ahead of them.

Our state sees an average of 220 alcohol-related crash fatalities a year; that means we're the worst state in the nation for lowering the number of drunk-driving accidents and resulting deaths.

So over the New Year holiday, police agencies will be stepping up drunk-driving enforcement.

In metropolitan Tulsa, that will take the form of saturation patrols and random check-points.

"We will be out in full force. We will be visible. So we are letting you know ahead of time we will be out there. So please make good decisions. Make good choices," said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper, Antonio Porter.

Police say if you drink you should either, call for another ride, have a designated driver or use AAA's Tipsy-Tow service.
