City Of Tulsa Offices Closed For New Year's; Trash Pickup Schedule Changes

TULSA, Oklahoma - City of Tulsa offices will be closed on Thursday to observe New Year's Day, but public safety and mission critical operations will operate as normal, a news release says. Winter weather crews will be on standby to clear roads when necessary.

Residents who need assistance with a water or sewer problem may call the following 24-hour emergency numbers: water – (918) 596-9488, and sewer – (918) 586-6999.

On Thursday there will be no residential refuse, recycling, yard waste or bulky waste collection. Many customers will experience a change in their collection day(s), according to the following schedule:

  • For customers with once-a-week collection services, Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.

  • For customers with twice-a-week collection services, Monday and Thursday customers will be collected on Monday and Friday.

  • Tuesday and Friday customers, as well as Wednesday and Saturday customers, will experience no change in service.

The City's green waste disposal site, 2100 N. 145th E. Ave., will be closed Thursday and Sunday. The City of Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, 3031 N. Erie Ave., will be closed Thursday.

Tulsa Parks recreation centers, as well as Mohawk Park and Page Belcher golf courses, will be closed Thursday. The Tulsa Zoo, however, will be open on New Year's Day.

Gilcrease Museum also will be open on Thursday. The Tulsa Performing Arts Center will be closed on New Year's Day; however, ticket sales will be open through

Tulsa Transit will not provide bus service on New Year's Day.
