The healing power of art is on full display in Tulsa at a new exhibit that opened Friday at Living Arts in the Brady District.

Speaking Volumes is all about transforming hate as the artists turned racist propaganda into thought-provoking art.

“My work as artist and an activist is to create art within the context of human rights education,” said Exhibit Curator, Kate Knight.

“I hope that they have conversations with each other about their experiences, what they've observed and what we can do. I hope that they bring their children and their students to learn about what our shared history is and help us shape a brighter more just future,” she said.

Knight said she's not positive art can change our direction, but that it's a lifeline for her.

You can see Speaking Volumes: Transforming Hate at Living Arts though February 26th.
