Two earthquakes shook up residents near the town of Perry, Okla., in Noble County, Monday afternoon.

The first earthquake, a 3.8 magnitude, struck at approximately 4:06 p.m., two miles south southeast of Perry, or about 55 miles north northeast of the Oklahoma City metro, at a depth of three miles. Then at 4:27 p.m., a 3.9 magnitude quake struck in virtually the same area.

So far there have been no reports of injuries or damage associated with these earthquakes.

This was the fifth earthquake over 3.0 magnitude recorded in Oklahoma on Monday. A 3.5 magnitude quake was recorded near Medford just after 6:15 a.m. Then around 6:57 a.m. a 3.0 quake rumbled near Enid, followed by a 3.1 magnitude quake near Cherokee, Okla., at 7:52 a.m.

According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest ones felt by humans. Damage is more likely with quakes at magnitudes of 4.0 and higher.
