Tulsa's Teachers Union Wants Say In Hire Of Next Superintendent

Leaders from Tulsa's Teachers Union said they deserve a seat at the table before a decision on the next superintendent is finalized.

The school board said it's zeroing in on the next superintendent for Tulsa Public Schools.

The board said it's pleased with its four applicants, and said, "they're each well-qualified," to lead Green Country's largest school district.

The district interviewed candidates on Saturday and said all four are still in the running.

Leaders from Tulsa's Teachers Union said they deserve a seat at the table before a decision is finalized.

"Teachers have always been included in the past. We have, along with the students, the most at stake in this," said Teacher's Union President, Patti Ferguson.
