You might have noticed an increase in people posting pictures of their dogs on Facebook. It's all for an amazing cause.

Sixteen-year-old Anthony Lyons from Phoenix is fighting cancer. He loves dogs and gets visits from a therapy dog, but not all the time.

Anthony's love for animals is the reason a friend started a Facebook page called "Photo Doggies for Anthony."

“Most of my days here are sad and depressing. I will just sit in my bed with blankets over my head and not talk to anyone,” Anthony Lyons said.

“People are putting signs around their pet saying, ‘Get well soon Anthony.' So you know they just took the picture just for that site,” Anthony's mother, Kristen Lyons said.

There are several photos from Oklahoma, like Ponca City and Oklahoma City.

The original page was taken down but a new page has been set up. A family friend who set up the page released the following statement on the new page

“Not actual event, original 'Photo Doggies For Anthony' got taken down because one person decided to bring his negativity upon a great thing, I  hope I can continue to see all the pictures of your dogs. No matter what they make me happy and I try and look at every single one of them!”
