Police say it isn't often they get called to a home break-in and catch the criminal still inside the house, but that's what happened - thanks to Tulsa homeowner who decided to take matters into his own hands.

This homeowner was so sick of burglars breaking into his house, that he decided to sleep in his car, hoping to catch the burglars red-handed and that's exactly what happened.

John Paynter, burglary victim: "I was nervous. He was a big guy, and I was sure he wasn't a nice man."
Lori Fullbright, reporter:: "I'm sure, since he was breaking into your house."

John was right here in his car by the driveway. He had nodded off and when he woke up, he saw his 1950s Coke machine outside the garage, so he knew the burglars were back.

He saw his door knocked off the hinges, heard a noise and realized they were still there, so he called 911.

He says he's been hit about a half dozen times since last February. He's added locks and cameras, and they still keep coming back.

"They've also gone in through the garage to the attic and kicked a hole in the ceiling and dropped down into the home through a hole in the ceiling," said John Paynter, a burglary victim who helped police capture suspected tthieves

Police got there fast and the burglar was still inside. When he heard the cops, he took off running out the back. They say he tried to fight them, but they arrested and booked Ronald Wilson into jail for burglary and resisting arrest.

John was glad to see someone in cuffs, but says it's been a miserable experience to have someone steal his coin collection and Coca Cola trays and life-sized, signed poster of Marilyn Monroe. He also lost some bronze horses given to him by his late father.

He even quit staying here, because he can't stand to see everything so ransacked. He said it makes him mad.

"Yeah, it does. I'm the victim here. It's unfair to get run out of our house by burglars," he said.

You'd think this story has a happy ending with the arrest, but the truth is, John is so scared to come back here that he's going to find a new place to call home.
