Very Cold Morning Across Eastern Oklahoma

TULSA, Oklahoma -

The coldest temperatures of the season combined with light winds have dropped the wind chill values into the single digits across eastern Oklahoma Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory until 11 a.m. for a number Oklahoma counties. That list includes Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties.

News On 6 meteorologist Alan Crone says with temperatures in the teens and light winds have combined to created dangerous wind chill values from zero to minus 12 degrees across Green Country.

Crone says the sun will help warm things up with a high expected near 35 by this afternoon. He says the winds will shift from the north to the south and pick up speed as well Thursday afternoon.

Crone says another arctic front is forecast to move into Oklahoma Thursday evening dropping temperatures to below freezing again on Friday.
