TULSA, Oklahoma -

The fire department says a west Tulsa home was destroyed by fire Thursday morning.

Firefighters got the call at about 8:45 a.m. to the home at South 31st West Avenue and 36th Place South. When firefighters arrived smoke and flames were coming from the structure.

Firefighters were delayed attacking the fire after a nearby fire hydrant didn't work because it was frozen and they had to drag a water line from another hydrant several blocks away.

The Tulsa Fire Department could find no one home and says the cause of the fire remains under investigation
