Chance Of Wintry Mix, Snow In Green Country Forecast

Posted: Updated:
TULSA, Oklahoma -

There's slight chance of freezing drizzle in the forecast for Green Country Saturday night through Monday morning.

"The window of opportunity for that will be, primarily, later Saturday night and again early Monday morning," said WARN Team Meteorologist Dick Faurot.

"Again, amounts will be very light, so this is not expected to be a high impact event, but keep in mind the bridges and overpasses could pose some problems during those time frames."

Sunday is expected to start below freezing, so drivers should be aware of the possibility of some icing issues.

Temperatures are expected to warm up to the 40s on Sunday.

The next possibility of winter precipitation is during the middle of next week. There may be some energy moving overhead with cold air in place in on the surface. Faurot said that combination often results in snow, but it's still too early to call.

"Far too early to get too excited about how much snow we may receive, but there certainly looks to be a window of opportunity for some accumulation starting Tuesday night and ending during the day Wednesday," he said in his weather blog.

"Additional data runs over the next couple of days will help in providing better guidance along those lines."
