TULSA, Oklahoma -

TU men's basketball hosts Connecticut Tuesday night in the Reynolds Center at 8:30 p.m. The Golden Hurricane is currently 10-5 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Tulsa won its last contest 63-56 against Temple this past Saturday, putting them on a five-game winning streak.

Shaquille Harrison led the team in scoring with 24 points in Saturday's game. Due to his performance, Harrison was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday. He also leads the league in scoring with an overall average of 21.3 points per game.

The Huskies are currently defending its national championship title, after winning it last season. This season the team is 9-5 overall, and 2-1 in conference. UConn is on a three-game winning streak, and has won three of its previous six games. The Huskies are coming to the Tulsa in efforts to get its third consecutive road win.

The game is highly anticipated because of UConn's prior success. "They're just another team that's in the way of our goals, and so we have to take notice and take forward. This is another opponent. [We] just [have to] do the best we can, [and] play Tulsa basketball and not worry about the hype," said TU's James Woodard.

The two teams have only met once, (back in 1978), where UConn won the matchup 89-68.

Ryan Boatright leads the Huskies in scoring, averaging 16.9 points per game. As a whole, the Huskies average 66.5 points per game, and give up an average of 59.4 points per game. On the other end, Tulsa scores 66.2 points per game, and gives up 61.7 points per game.

Tuesday night's game is black-out night and military appreciation night for TU, so the team will wear its black uniforms in the battle against UConn. Fans are also urged to wear black to the game. During halftime, TU will be recognizing a local member of the military. Also, all military members with a valid military ID will receive free admission to the game.
