Authorities Take Down Ponca City Meth Trafficking Organization

The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) and local authorities have ended a year-long methamphetamine trafficking investigation resulting in numerous arrest warrants.

Around 6:30 a.m. Friday, agents and officers from several departments began their operation armed with 18 arrest warrants for defendants accused of trafficking meth into Ponca City.

The organization would traffic as much as a pound of crystal meth into Ponca City, weekly.

As of noon Friday, seven of the 18 defendants had been taken into custody. All of whom, were transported to the Kay County Jail.

Those in custody face several different charges, including Conspiracy to Traffic Controlled Substances.

The year-long investigation into this meth trafficking organization involved OBN, the Kay County Sheriff's Department, Ponca City Police Department, and the Kay County District Attorney Drug Task Force 8.
