Tulsa men's basketball is the talk of the town with its 6-0 conference record and eight-game win streak.

In TU's last game, the team pulled out a 73-55 victory over Memphis. Shaquille Harrison led the Golden Hurricane in scoring with 18 points and a career-high ten rebounds. He had no turnovers and contributed six assists and four steals.

Tulsa's 6-0 start in conference is a team-best since the 1984-1985 season, where the team started with an 8-0 record in league play.

Tulsa's 13-5 record under first-year head coach Frank Haith is TU's best record in 18 games in a head coach's first season since 2001-2002, when TU started 15-3. The 13-5 start is also the best 18-game record overall since the 2009-2010 season.

The Golden Hurricane has out-scored opponents 69.4-56.5 in the course of its eight-game win streak.

In the team's six conference games, it has outscored opponents by an average of 67.5-55.8. The team has shot .429 from the field, while holding opponents to a .385 FG percentage, and outrebounded opponents 35.8-33.8.

This season Tulsa hasn't allowed more than 58 points from any conference opponent, including seven consecutive games overall.

The team returns to action Saturday morning against East Carolina.

Saturday's matchup will be the 14th meeting between the two teams. Tulsa leads the overall series 11-2. Last season, the Golden Hurricane beat the Pirates at home (76-58), and split two meetings in the 2012-2013 season; ECU won 72-63 in Tulsa, while the Hurricane won 79-72 in the C-USA Tournament at the BOK Center. TU seized victory eight meetings in a row from 2007-2012. The other win for East Carolina was in 2006, where the Pirates claimed a 59-45 win in the first conference contest between the two programs. Tulsa won the first-ever matchup against the Pirates back in 1984, (86-63).

TU has beat ECU by an average of 13.3 points in ten games.

Saturday's game tips off at 11:00 a.m. and will broadcast on ESPNews.
