TULSA, Oklahoma - The cause of a west Tulsa house fire is under investigation Saturday. A house that is for sale in the 4300 block of South 26th West Avenue was badly damaged when flames broke into the attic and caused the roof to collapse.

Tulsa Fire Department Captain Jerry Benefield said a neighbor called the fire in about 2:30 a.m.

Investigators believe the fire started in the middle of the house. Although the home was vacant, utilities were hooked up.

Benefield said the cold temperatures and lack of wind helped them get the fire under control and from threatening nearby power lines and surrounding homes.
