Developers broke ground today on the first new residential development in more than 30 years in Bristow.

Biltmore Homes is behind the more than $3 million project. The new development will be called Abraham Ridge.

Homes in the gates community will cost between $135,000 and $180,000. Construction begins next week, and Biltmore plans to donate a portion of home sale profits to Bristow's Social Services Organization.

"We're just happy to have the opportunity to have a company like this come in and and, put a project like this together like this that'll benefit the city," Mayor Leonard Washington, Bristow.

Bristow's mayor also hopes the new housing development will help spur economic growth in the community.
