The Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL announced Tuesday the acquisition of rookie forward Brady Ramsay from the Ontario Reign. Ramsay, 21, was dealt from the Reign to the Oilers for an undisclosed amount of money.

A 5-foot-11, 180-pound winger, Ramsay appeared in 13 games for the Reign this season and recorded five points (2 goals, 3 assists) along with 31 penalty minutes. The native of Calgary, Alberta posted a +6 rating during his time in Ontario.

“Brady is a talented young player who can bring a lot of energy to our club,” said Oilers Head Coach, Bruce Ramsay, who bears no relation to the new forward. “He put up very impressive numbers in juniors and I'm looking forward to seeing what a fresh start and a change of scenery can do for his game.”

Prior to turning pro, Ramsay played four seasons for the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the Western Hockey League. In the 2013-14 campaign, his final year of junior hockey, Ramsay led the Hurricanes in assists (27), points (42), and penalty minutes (142). Immediately following his junior career, Ramsay got his first taste of professional hockey as an amateur with the Stockton Thunder. He registered one assist and ten penalty minutes in three games for the Thunder.

Ramsay is expected to join the Oilers in time for their return to the BOK Center on Thursday, January 29 at 7:05 p.m. against the Brampton Beast. Beer is only one dollar on Thursday night and before the puck is dropped, all job-seekers are invited to the Oilers' second annual Career Fair from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the grand lobby of the BOK Center.
