OWASSO, Oklahoma - A Claremore man is in the Tulsa County jail, accused of driving under the influence and causing a crash in Owasso which sent another driver to the hospital Thursday evening.

Owasso Police said Brittian Harrison, 29, told officers he drank three to four beers while at a Tulsa bowling alley prior to the crash which happened on Highway 169 at 76th Street North at about 9:45 p.m. Officers said he told them as he was headed north on 169 when an SUV started tailgating him, so "he brake checked" his Chevy Cruze.

A witness told police the Cruze passed the SUV, pulled in front of it and then slammed on its brakes. The witness told police the SUV swerved to avoid the car but hit the Cruze on the right rear corner.

According to the witness, the SUV went into the median and rolled at least five times. The witness said Harrison's car also spun out, but then left the scene.

Police say the witness called 911 and followed Harrison's car to a school parking lot on 86th Street North.

The officer said he noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside when he stopped the car and that a juvenile male was sitting next to Harrison. The officer said Harrison struggled with him as he tried to arrest Harrison, but he consented to a blood and breath test. He also talked about the crash and how he had tried to get off the highway in attempt to hide from police, the officer said.

Police did not release the age of the juvenile.

They didn't know the condition of the driver of the SUV involved in the crash.

Police booked Harrison into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of DUI, leaving the scene of an injury crash, child endangerment, reckless driving and resisting arrest. Jail records show Harrison was being held in lieu of $39,500 bond with a court appearance set for February, 6, 2015.
