Nothing cures a slump like a visit from the Orlando Magic.

The Thunder entered Monday's game having lost four of their past five, but thanks to Russell Westbrook, foiled the Magic 104-97 at Chesapeake Arena.

Westbrook was a dominant force of nature for a Thunder team in severe need of a boost. Russ finished with 25 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds to secure his second triple double of the season. His dominance was magnified by the play of Orlando's point guard, Elfrid Payton. The rookie from Louisiana Lafayette shot 0-of-6 from the floor, did not score, only dished out three helpers and grabbed three rebounds.

Westbrook schooled the young fella from start to finish. And he needed to.

That's because Oklahoma City once again played without Kevin Durant, who missed the contest as he continued to nurse his injured toe.

Dion Waiters started in place of Durant and played his best game as a member of the Thunder. Waiters poured in 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting in 40 minutes of play. Serge Ibaka quietly put together a solid night with 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.

Anthony Morrow helped the cause with 15 points off the pine. Morrow drained all three of his 3-point tries.

This thing was over pretty early on. OKC outscored Orlando by seven in the first and by 11 at halftime. The lead got up to 15 at the end of the third and they cruised from there.

OKC (24-24) got back to .500 on Military Appreciation Night, where 800 Thunder season ticket holders gave up their seats to military personnel. The Thunder now must turn their focus to a crucial home-and-home with the New Orleans Pelicans (26-22). New Orleans currently sits ninth in the Western Conference and is the only team separating the Thunder from the eighth-seeded Suns.
