A grass fire burned through three acres and an abandoned trailer near Catoosa. Firefighters from the Oak Grove Fire Department were at the scene quickly and able to get the grass fire contained.

They say once they found the trailer burning they called Catoosa and Rolling Hills departments for help.

Firefighters say just because it's winter does not mean there's not a threat of grass fires.

"There's always a risk for grass fires in Oklahoma, the weather changes frequently. I would just recommend always keeping an eye on the weather," said Waylan Marler, Oak Grove Fire Department.

Firefighters don't know what started the fire. They spent the afternoon putting out hot spots.

Tulsa crews have been out to some small grass fires as well. Early Saturday evening they were called to put out some small fires near the intersection of Interstate 244 and Highway 169.
