TULSA, Oklahoma - Update From ODOT, 10 a.m. Monday:

Slick and hazardous conditions are reported in eastern and south central Oklahoma, and crews continue to apply sand and salt to bridges and problem areas. Drivers are reminded to be careful around plow and sanding trucks.

Unnecessary travel is still discouraged in eastern and northeastern Oklahoma where winter precipitation continues.

"If travel is necessary, drivers should prepare for slow driving conditions and use extreme caution. They should allow extra space between vehicles so there is adequate distance for braking, and also go slow when entering or exiting a highway," the latest travel advisory reads.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says its trucks are still spreading sand and salt on highways in the Tulsa area.

ODOT spokesman Martin Stewart says there has been a large number of crashes, including several overturned vehicles, but so far no one has been seriously hurt. Stewart says trucks are plowing snow and slush off the highways but the roads are still slick especially on bridges and highway ramps.
