A Mustang woman was arrested in an attack of her 90-year-old mother in Oklahoma City.

Police said Sheila Middlebrooks, 62, beat, tazed, and even tried to suffocate her mother during the assault.

According to police, just before 9 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the domestic incident at the victim's home in the 10000 block of S. Douglas Avenue in Oklahoma City.

Police spoke with the victim, who said Middlebrooks tried to kill her.

"The daughter came by to collect the mail as the mother was in the kitchen making herself something to eat, the daughter for unknown reasons attacked her," Master Sergeant Gary Knight explained.

After getting her mail, the victim said Middlebrooks followed her to the kitchen and asked for a plastic bag.

When the victim handed Middlebrooks the bag, the victim said Middlebrooks pulled out a silver Taser and tazed the victim twice on her chest.

After tazing her mother, Middlebrooks reportedly stated, “I thought that would kill you.”

The attack didn't stop there.

"She was thrown to the ground, she was struck repeatedly, she was choked at one point the daughter put a plastic bag across her face trying to suffocate her and stuffed a rag inside her mouth," said Knight.

The victim told police the incident lasted several minutes.

During the attack, the victim said she tried to push Middlebrooks off of her, but was unsuccessful due to Middlebrooks' strength and weight.

Police said the victim never lost consciousness and eventually Middlebrooks gave up.

"The daughter got up and just simply left... and left the elderly woman on the floor," Knight said. The victim was on the floor for several hours trying to drag herself to a phone to call for help, Knight added.

Police said it took the victim about two and half hours to make it to her bedroom, because she could not walk.

Officers found a trail of blood leading from the kitchen to the bedroom where the victim eventually called for help.

The victim was transported to the hospital with a swollen eye and bruises among other injuries.

Hospital staff told News 9 the victim is listed in fair condition.
