OHP: Skiatook Man Critically Injured In ATV Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Skiatook man is in critical condition after an ATV he was riding on rolled over next to a private drive north of Skiatook Tuesday evening.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Skiatook man is in critical condition after an ATV he was riding on rolled over next to a private drive north of Skiatook Tuesday evening.

Troopers said the crash happened at 6:22 p.m. just off 176th Street North in rural Osage County.

The OHP says Richard Cale, 53, was a passenger on a Polaris 4-wheeler driven by a 17-year-old teen when it stalled going up a hill. The ATV rolled backwards before rolling over throwing the teenager off and then landing on Cale.

Cale was flown to a Tulsa hospital.  The OHP says Cale suffered internal and head injuries.The teen was not injured.

Trooper said neither the teen or Cale were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
