OKLAHOMA CITY - Roads across state remain slick and hazardous Tuesday morning after snow covered much of the state Monday.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, roads and bridges in central, eastern and southeastern areas of the state remain icy. Conditions remain slick and hazardous and motorists are urged to use extreme caution when traveling Tuesday morning.

ODOT - Oklahoma Road Conditions

As warmer temperatures move into the state, ODOT crews anticipate continued progress in clearing roadways and lessening the number of slick spots.

Drivers who must travel Tuesday morning are urged to plan ahead for extra travel time so they can take it slow. Even in areas of the state with less accumulation, drivers need to remain alert to black ice conditions and use caution on bridges, overpasses and ramps.

ODOT crews said they will continue salt, sand and plowing operations as long as conditions warrant. Drivers should remain alert to these trucks working throughout the morning hours and stay at least 200 feet behind snow plows.

If drivers must travel out of state, they are urged to check area road conditions before heading out.
