Fire destroyed a trailer home near Sperry Thursday night.

Country Corner Fire Chief Jim Massey says a neighbor near West 88th Street and 52nd West Avenue saw the fire and called 911 at about 10 p.m.

Massey says when firefighters arrived they realized ammunition inside the trailer was exploding and backed off. He says no one was home so firefighters let it burn.

Massey says a mother and son who lived inside were in Oklahoma City when the fire broke out.

He says the fire department will be back at the trailer Friday to check for hot spots and return a dog which was found wandering around the fire scene.

Massey believes it was an electrical fire, but they are still investigating.
