BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -

Volunteers didn't let winter weather stop them from helping a Green Country teenager.

A one-car accident on January 3, 2015, resulted in 17-year-old Broken Arrow student Ally Gniech being ejected from the vehicle.

Her injuries had been extensive - including a severed spine and several broken bones.

After going through multiple surgeries, Ally is now at a facility in Chicago learning to live independently as a paraplegic. This weekend, family, friends, and volunteers are working to widen doorways and prepare the home for Ally's return.

Ally's family say that this weekend's snow and ice didn't discourage the outpouring of support.

"They're still here. I mean we've got cars lined up outside. We've had contractors in for the last two days," said Colby Gniech, Ally's uncle.

The volunteers had originally planned to finish everything this weekend - however, because of the weather they have postponed building an outside ramp and deck.

You can help the family by contributing to Ally's Go Fund Me Account.
